CONDOLENCE MESSAGE ON THE DEMISE OF MATTHEW ATIAH, NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS
(NDC) COMMUNICATOR
With profound sadness, we acknowledge the untimely passing of Mr. Matthew Atia, an esteemed communicator for the National Democratic Congress (NDC). The news of his demise on Friday, April 5,
2024, has sent shockwaves throughout the political landscape.
Mr. Atia was a dedicated, passionate, and influential voice for the NDC. His unwavering commitment and
articulate communication skills made him a respected figure in the political arena. Our relationship with him
extended back to the 1990s, when he played a vital role in the community through his bicycle renting
business, “MORE TIME”.
Matthew Atia’s journey from a serial caller to a respected communicator is a testament to his dedication and perseverance. Despite the challenges he faced, including limited media outlets in the Upper East Region, he remained steadfast in his efforts to amplify the NDC’s message.
Atia’s ability to connect with listeners and the public speaks to his exceptional communication skills and his deep understanding of the issues that mattered to his community. He became a trusted voice for the NDC and a respected figure in the political landscape.
His story serves as an inspiration to aspiring politicians and communicators, showing that with determination and hard work, anyone can make a meaningful contribution to the public discourse.
Atia’s ability to engage with hosts and listeners, even those who held opposing views, was an evident to his
open-mindedness and desire for constructive dialogue. His signature statements, such as “Clueless
Government” and “Mr Host how is Nana Addo, Bawumia Economic hardship?”, became synonymous with his sharp wit and incisive analysis. His absence will be deeply felt by the NDC, which has lost a valuable asset and a passionate advocate. His family has lost a beloved breadwinner and patriarch, and the Upper East Region has lost a colossus who made significant contributions to its political and social discourse.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Atia’s family and friends during this difficult time. We extend our deepest condolences and hope that they find solace in the knowledge that he lived a life of purpose and made a lasting impact on his community and beyond.
May his soul find eternal peace in the heavenly realms!
