UE/R: SOCO PROJECT FACILITATORS URGED TO WORK HARD FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE PROJECT – DCE NABDAM

Mr. Yidana Zakaria, the North East Regional Minister, has commissioned a Three-bedroom Doctors Bungalow constructed under the Gulf of Guinea Northern Regions Social Cohesion Project (SOCO) at a ceremony held in chereponi in the North East Region of Ghana.
Speaking at the commissioning Mr. Yidana Zakaria reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing the living conditions of Ghanaians, which he said led to initiation of the (SOCO )project
He said Five (5) project had been completed in the cherepone District and over 50 projects had been completed in the region all under (SOCO) waiting for commissioning
Mr. Yidana appealed to the electorates in the Chereponi constituency to reward the good works of President Akufo-Addo and New Patriotic Party (NPP) government by voting massively for the NPP 2024 President candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia come December 7.
Medical Superintendent of Chereponi Government Hospital Dr. Mahamud Aliu Saalana expressed his happiness with the gesture and said it will provide a place to house doctors who need a sound mind to provide proper treatment to patients.
According to Dr.Mahamud, the Chereponi Government Hospital currently has three Medical Doctors and appeal for anesthetists and Critical care nurses
The project is contributing to the prevention of conflict spillover from the Sahelian countries by improving the social and economic resilience of the targeted Northern Regions in the Gulf of Guinea countries (Ghana, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, and Togo).
In Ghana, the SOCO Project is being implemented in six (6) regions in the northern parts of Ghana – namely the Northern, Upper East, Upper West, North East, Savannah, and Oti Regions. Forty-eight (48) MMDAs are benefitting from the project.
The ceremony was attended by the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Chereponi, Hajia Zuweira Moda Nashiru, Mr. Samuel Agyarko Larbi,SOCO Zonal Coordinator for Upper East and North-East regions, representatives of SOCO in Chereponi, doctors and nurses, Chiefs among others.
