UE/R: SOCO PROJECT FACILITATORS URGED TO WORK HARD FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE PROJECT – DCE NABDAM

The President nominee for the East Mamprusi Municipal Assembly Mr. Issah Chimsi Abdulai was confirmed last Monday by the 54 member Assembly after a confirmation polls witnessed by officials of the Electoral Commission. He polled 51 votes out of a total of 52 valid votes casts representing 94.23 percent of the votes.
Addressing members of the Assembly after his confirmation, the MCE thanked all the Assembly members for the confidence reposed on him calling for unity and support from all stakeholders more especially the traditional authorities so that together they develop the municipality to a level they all yearned for.
He stated that the Assembly could not achieve any meaningful development if only it continued to rely on the insufficient common fund and other government’s releases given the daily incremental and developmental needs of residents of the municipality.
He therefore pledged his administration’s commitment to churn out innovative strategies aimed at raking more internally generated revenue of the Assembly adding he would revive the Assembly’s revenue task force and equip them with sufficient powers to enable them collaborate effectively with the Assembly’s finance department and other relevant agencies so as to rake in more internally generated revenue for efficient Assembly’s operations.
Mr. Chimsi appealed to Assembly members as well as the traditional authorities to help in the education of the masses on the need to honour their tax obligations to the Assemble
