By – Sadat Dabo
The Site Manager of Rango Construction, Peter Aoma, has assured residents of the Upper East Region that the Kulaa section of the Bolgatanga-Bawku-Pulmakom road will be made serviceable and free of dust within two weeks

The assurance comes amid growing concerns over the deteriorating condition of the road, which has subjected residents, motorists and businesses, particularly in Bolgatanga, to persistent dust and transportation difficulties
Mr. Aoma gave the commitment during an inspection of the ongoing reconstruction works by the Upper East Regional Minister, Akamugri Donatus Atanga on Friday November 6, 2026

According to the Site Manager, the section stretching from the Timber Market to the Rural Market is expected to be fixed within the two-week timeline, bringing some relief to residents who have been affected by the poor road conditions
However, he identified access to adequate water supply as one of the major challenges confronting the construction team, appealing to relevant authorities and communities to support the company in securing sufficient water to facilitate the works
The inspection by the Regional Minister follows an engagement with the Minister for Roads and Highways in Accra, where assurances were given that road construction equipment was being mobilised to the Upper East Region
Mr. Akamugri said he visited the site upon his return to the region to ascertain whether the equipment had arrived and whether work was progressing as expected
He disclosed that the Minister for Roads and Highways is expected to visit the region next Tuesday to provide further details on the project’s scope, implementation arrangements and funding
The Regional Minister also assured residents that additional road construction equipment would be deployed across the region within two weeks to accelerate work on other priority roads
Among the roads expected to benefit are the Nyangua-Ayundi, Zuarungu-Ayundi, Kandiga-Sirigu and Garu-Timpane roads, alongside other roads in the Navrongo area
Mr. Akamugri appealed to residents to remain calm and exercise patience as government works to address the challenges confronting road infrastructure in the region
He reiterated government’s commitment to improving road connectivity across the Upper East Region, urging residents to assess its performance based on ongoing and completed development projects
The two-week commitment by Rango Construction is expected to provide some relief to residents and road users along the Kulaa stretch, with attention now focused on whether the contractor can meet the deadline and deliver a motorable, dust-free road
