A new political battle appears to be taking shape within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper East Region as Casper Sunday Kampoli has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Upper East Regional Communications Officer
In his Declaration of Intent on Monday September 15, Kampoli says his decision is driven by a commitment to strengthen the party’s communication machinery, sharpen its political messaging and sustain what he describes as the NDC’s development agenda ahead of the 2028 general elections
Under the campaign message Strategic Political Communication to Sustain Agenda 15/15, Kampoli argues that effective communication will be central to translating the party’s achievements and policies into a message that resonates with voters
He says his vision is to build a communication structure capable of responding quickly to political developments while ensuring that the NDC’s message reaches communities across the Upper East Region
According to Kampoli, his approach will focus on data-driven communication, rapid response to misinformation, strategic storytelling and stronger engagement with traditional and social media platforms
He further pledges to promote a communication strategy that brings together regional, constituency and branch-level structures to create what he describes as a united and disciplined communication front
“Strategic communication is not just about speaking; it is about listening, understanding and translating the aspirations of our people into a compelling political narrative.”
Kampoli also promises to work with communicators across the region to strengthen their capacity and ensure that the party speaks with clarity and consistency on government policies and programmes
His declaration could intensify the race for the influential regional communications position, particularly as political parties begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2028 elections
Kampoli is therefore asking NDC delegates and party stakeholders to support his vision of a more coordinated, responsive and strategic communications machinery for the Upper East Region
