UE/R: SOCO PROJECT FACILITATORS URGED TO WORK HARD FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE PROJECT – DCE NABDAM
The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and the presidential candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party, His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia announced that a number of development projects were undertaken by the office of the Zongo Development Fund, ZDF adding the fund which was his brainchild was geared towards impacting on many lives positively in the dispersed Zongo communities across the country.
Interacting with members of the muslim clergy of the Upper East Region in Bolgatanga as part of a day’s campaign visit to the region. They were made up of the Tijjania Muslim sect, Ahlusunna sect, the Shia among others stating that 40 briliant but needy Zongo students were being sponsored by the fund who were studying medicine abroad. According to him they would be done with their courses hopefully by next year most of who would come back to serve in the Zongo communities.
The flagbearer of the ruling NPP assured the clergy that given the nod as the president of the Republic of Ghana after the general elections he would ensure the continuity of the medical training of the Zongo youth so as to enhance the human resource needs of our Zongo communities.
He further made clear his stand on the LGBTQ issue saying it would not be entertained under his watch as President stressing that the act was against our religious and cultural values which were so dear to us as a society.
The Upper East Regional Chief Imam, Sheikh Yussif Umar Imam who spoke on behalf of the Moslem clergy commended the vice president for his foresight for the Zongo communities saying projects funded by the fund were all over the Zongo communities for us to see. He presented a citation on behalf of the Imams and members of the Association of Zongo Chiefs.
