UE/R: SOCO PROJECT FACILITATORS URGED TO WORK HARD FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE PROJECT – DCE NABDAM
The ruling New Patriotic Party,NPP Regional Campaign Team made up of 40 selected members from the three zones of the region led by Lawyer Anthony Namooh, the Upper East Regional Chairman of the party was successfully launched in Bolgatanga, capital of the Upper East Region of Ghana.
Given a breakdown of the composition of the team in his welcome address, Chairman Namooh said the team was made up of 18 members from the Eastern Zone, 13 from the Central Zone and 9 members from the Western Zone.
He said breaking the eight was possible only when there was unity of purpose. This they could do by supporting the various parliamentary candidates who emerged victorious after the last NPP Parliamentary primaries across the region through marketing and packaging them well to the electorates.
In a short address, the Upper East Regional Minister, Mr. Stephen Yakubu warned members against mistrust and other questionable tendencies which could possibly affect the good working relationship among members thereby frustrating efforts geared towards breaking the eight adding that members needed to be discipline as well as being time conscious in order to ensure that objective was achieved.
The NPP National Campaign Manager for election 2024 Mr. Opari Ansah who addressed the party faithfuls stated that elections were won at the polling stations saying NPP would leave no stone unturned to ensure they put in place the needed human resource to co-ordinate the polling station elections come December 7, 2024.
Outlining the role of the regional campaign teams Mr. Ansah noted they were charged with the responsibility to build cohesion and co-ordinate election’s activities, furnish the national campaign team with the needs and requirements of the various constituencies and working closely with the regional reconciliation committee instituted by the leadership of the party in the region to build concensus for election 2024 among other roles. He therefore praised the party’s leadership for the initiative describing it as an avenue for building bridges among the rank and file of the elephant family in the region.
He charged members to eschew divisive tendencies and bury their differences by putting the interest of the party above their individual interests.
The National Vice Chairperson of NPP, Madam Rita Asobayiri took the team through the oath of office as well as the regional advisory board made up of party patrons and members of the Council of Elders.
Some of the dignitaries present at the launch included; Alhaji Bature, Dr. Andrews, Alhaji Abdul-Hanan Aludiba, CEO Buffer Stock Company and Parliamentary Candidate for Pusiga, Paulina Abayage, former minister for Upper East, Alhaji Lawyer Mohammed Nambe, Alhaji Ibrahim Bashiru, Deputy CEO of YEA, Lawyer Dindiok Kpemka , former Deputy Attorney General and Parliamentary Candidate for Tempane, Parliamentary Candidates of the party and party executives from all the 15 constituencies of the region.
