The National Democratic Congress, NDC Parliamentary Candidate in the 2024 Election for the Talensi Constituency of the Upper East Region Hon. Daniel Mahama on the 27th December, 2023 brought together all the branch executives of all the 96 polling stations in the Constituency to express his profound gratitude to them for the confidence reposed in him to lead the party as its Parliamentary Candidate going into the 2024 general elections
Thanking the executives for the opportunity to lead the party, the PC paid glowing tribute to the Member of Parliament for the area Hon. B. T. Baba and the former MP, Hon. John Akolgo Tia for their towering contributions to the development of the Constituency and the show of great leadership in the area. He further ceased the opportunity to convey the MP’s seasonal greetings and new year message to the enthusiastic, determined and dependable branch executives in attendance.
The well attended program held at the Gbeogo School for the Deaf’s Assembly Hall, saw the PC reaffirmed his commitment to the mandate given assuring them of his unflinching resolved to step in the good “shoes” of Hon. B. T. Baba to provide the Constituency with the needed representation in Ghana’s Parliament when he is eventually elected as the Member of Parliament for the area.
He therefore urged all to work collectively and relentlessly to deliver at least 45,000 of the popular votes for him and H.E. John Dramani Mahama, the Presidential Candidate for the party in the upcoming polls.
Hon. Mahama on the basis of this call impressed upon all the members to close their ranks and rededicate their energies and efforts towards the actualization of this onerous task assuring that the efforts of each branch towards the achievement of this objective would not go unnoticed.
The PC further noted some development challenges and concerns of members and their communities and assured them of his resolve to work closely with them and the new NDC government to address them.
The Constituency Chairman, Hon. John Millim Nabwomya, the Constituency Secretary, Mr. Augustine Guure and the former Upper East Regional Communications Officer, Hon. Bernard Boayerig Bougzor who took turns to address the gathering reechoed the need for team work to retain the seat and deliver at least 85% of the popular votes for the party’s Presidential Candidate to rescue the country from the current backsliding and misruled NPP administration which has brought Ghana to its knees.
At the sidelines of this event, some of the branch executives took turns and congratulated and also appreciated the PC for the honour done them and pledged their unwavering support to ensuring the set objectives were achieved.
The event which ended very successfully was described by the NDC’s Talensi Constituency Communications Officer, Mr. Michael Nangena as a joyous moment of building bridges.:
