Touting the numerous achievements by the Member of Parliament for the Binduri Constituency and Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Hon. Abdulai Abanga, the Upper East Regional Youth Wing in collaboration with the NPP Youth Wing of the Constituency in a press conference held at Binduri on Saturday 13th July 2024 to drum home the need to retain the hardworking Member of Parliament called on constituents to vote massively for him come December 7 to enable him to continue his game changing interventions.

Addressing the well attended press conference, the Party’s Regional Youth Organiser, Mr. Salahudeen Musah outlined the numerous achievements of the MP for the past three and a half years.

UPPER EAST REGIONAL YOUTH WING OF THE NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY
RALLIES SUPPORT FOR HON. ABDULAI ABANGA TO BE RETAINED AS MEMBER
OF PARLIAMENT FOR THE BINDURI CONSTITUENCY.

It is said that society stands still in periods where there is no leadership. Progress occurs when
courageous, skilful leaders seize the opportunity to change things for the better. It is also said that
the ideal reason why people engage in politics and aspire to be political leaders is to bring
development to their people and to better their lot.
Without a shred of doubt, if you are looking for one of the finest leaders in this part of the world
who have seized every opportunity to change things for the better and more importantly to bring
development to their people, then look no further than Hon. Abdulai Abanga, the Member of
Parliament for Binduri Constituency in the Upper East Region, and 2024 NPP Parliamentary
Candidate for the Constituency.
Hon. Abdullai Abanga has proven time without number that he is the most popular politician in
Binduri, and has, indeed, demonstrated that his emergence in Ghana’s political scenes is the
biggest fortune that the good people of Binduri have been blessed with. It is therefore no surprising
that the name Abdulai Abanga has become synonymous with progress and development in
Binduri.
There is virtually no person in Binduri whose life has not been positively impacted by the good
works and outstanding achievements of the Member of Parliament. His impact has been felt in
every department of life including education, healthcare, security, sanitation, livelihood support,
road construction, community infrastructure projects and other social support schemes. Simply
put, Hon Abdulai Abanga is that man living and actualizing the Binduri dream; a dream of
progress, development and prosperity for all.
It is against this backdrop that the Upper East Regional Youth Wing of the NPP is by this
statement, making a case for all the indigenes of Binduri, both home and abroad, and across the
political divide to throw their weight and unflinching support behind Hon. Abdulai Abanga and
renew his mandate as the Member of Parliament for the Binduri Constituency. Re-electing Hon.Abanga to Parliament will further widen his networks and provide him with more opportunities tobring more developments to the constituency.

In the past three and half years the NPP Government and the member Parliament, Hon. Abdulai
Abanga has proven himself to be an excellent representative for the people of Binduri in the august
house of Parliament, articulating their concerns and seeking solutions to their developmental challenges.
Owing to Hon Abanga’s stellar qualities and performance both in and outside parliament, His
Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo found him worthy to be appointed to serve
in his government as Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Government, a position he
has held and performed with distinction. Hon. Abanga used this privileged position to spearhead
more developmental projects for the people of the Upper East Region and Binduri in particular.
For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to, at this juncture, use this opportunity to chronicle some of
the life-transforming interventions and projects undertaken by Hon. Abdulai Abanga and the
government of Nana Akuffu Addo and Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia in the various sectors to bring
relief to the good people of Binduri and beyond.
A. HEALTHCARE RELATED INTERVENTIONS
In the area of healthcare, these are the interventions undertaken by Hon. Abanga within the Binduri
Constituency:
1) Hon Abanga constructed an ultra-modern Community-based Health Planning and Services
(CHPS) Compound at Kpalugu in 2023
2) He constructed an ultra-modern CHPS Compound at Sakpare with a hand pump borehole
and an Ambulance tricycle between April 2021 and April 2023

3) He constructed an ultra-modern CHPS Compound at Atuba comprising 2 consulting
rooms, a maternity ward, a dispensary, a lay-in ward, records, a washroom, a 3-bed room
accommodation for nurses and a merchandised water system.
4) He is spearheading the construction of an ultra-modern CHPS Compound at Gumyoko.
5) He is overseeing the expansion of the Manga CHPS Compound as well as the renovation
of the Yalugu CHPS Compound and the construction of the Binduri District NHIS office
at Zaago.
Beyond the construction of these health infrastructures, Hon. Abdulai Abanga and the Government
have ensured that they are adequately furnished or equipped with the necessary facilities to make
them functional. For instance, in March 2021, he presented 29 hospital beds which comprise 26
standard beds and 3 delivery beds to the District Health Directorate for onward distribution.
Also, in April 2022, he presented the following equipment to the District Health Directorate: 9
standard beds, 15 mattresses with covers, 3 oxygen machines, 9 wheelchairs, 21 chairs, 1 box of
bandage, and 3 boxes of prickets. In addition to the above, Hon Abanga also presented a brandnew Xpress motorbike and psychotropic drugs worth GHS 40,000 to the Mental Health Unit of
the District in November 2023.
EDUCATION
1. Construction of six (6) units of classroom blocks, offices, staff common rooms, libraries,
KVIP’s, with 200 wooden dual desks at Vawku-Sapeligah, Bansi, Aniisi, Atuba, Binduri
Cnetral, Kulimvai and Poamire communities
2. Donated a total of 1,700 wooden dual desks to the Ghana Education in 2022, 2023 and
2024
3. Provided both local and foreign fully-funded scholarships to 10 brilliant but needy students.
4. Provided financial support to 104 Tertiary students in 2022, and 205 students in 2024.
5. Organized district mock exams for BECE students in 2021-2024.

6. Provided over 3,000 mathematical sets to various batches of BECE and financial to make
the students comfortable throughout the BECE period
7. Organized district-level inter-school reading and debating competitions in the years 2023
and 2024.
B. ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT AND INCOME-GENERATING ACTIVITIES
In the area of economic ventures or income-generating activities, these are some of the
interventions undertaken by Hon. Abdulai Abanga within the Binduri Constituency
1) Hon. Abanga has been supporting various women groups in the constituency with seed
money to support their business ventures. The groups include Binduri E/A, Asuntaaba 1 &
2, Akpenginmeng, Apalyam, Abodsum, Akulenyang, Noryine Sungur, Noryine Kpelimbe,
Sugudunoma, Atenongtaaba, Widnaab Atieltaaba, Amilikasou, Azamsiyan, Winpang,
Akukpelimyang among others.
2) In November 2020, Hon. Abanga presented 100 Sewing machines to the Binduri branch of
the Ghana National Tailors and Dress-makers Association (GNTDA)
3) In the same month of November, he presented 20 Hair Dryers together with other
equipment like washing Sinks with seats, Hair straighteners, Sterilizers and many more to
the Binduri Chapter of the Ghana Hairdressers and Beauticians Association.
4) In January 2024, Hon Abanga presented 6 computerized lockstitch sewing machines with
an electronic control stitch length to his constituents from the Atuba, Boko, Kulok-Tengri,
and Zaago communities.
5) Hon. Abdulai Abanga constructed and rehabilitated some markets in the constituency
including 10-unit lockable market stores at Binduri market. In June 2024, 11-unit
unlockable market stores at Binduri market in June 2024 and the completion of 20-unit
lockable stores at Bazua market. in August 2020.

C. ROADS AND INFRASTRUCTURE
In the area of Roads, Hon. Abdulai Abanga and the government of Nana Addo/Bawumia have
undertaken the following road projects:
1) The 7.0km Kukparigu-Gotesaliga road has undergone significant improvements featuring
a major bridge and 17 culverts in 2023
2) Spot improvement of the 2.0km Azumsapeliga-Sakpare road with a major bridge and 5
culverts.
3) Spot improvement of the Avondago-Benguri road with trenches in June 2021
4) Spot improvement of Yodelinga-Azumsapeliga road with a major bridge in 2021
5) Spot improvement of the over 10km Bazua-Zaago-Binduri road with a major bridge and
culverts.
6) Spot improvement of the Sakpare-Avoose road in 2023
7) Ongoing spot improvement of the Bansi-Zawse-Bawku Road with culverts.
8) Rehabilitation of the Tambiigu-Agumsi road with 4 culverts in 2021
These roads and culverts have connected communities that were previously inaccessible during
the rainy season. This will further boost the local economy and improve the lives of constituents
in those areas. For instance, Gotesalifa, which used to be completely cut off from Binduri during
the rainy season, is now fully connected due to the construction of the 7km Kukparigu-Gotesaliga
road, which includes two major culverts and seventeen (17) minor culverts.
D. WATER AND SANITATION
Hon. Abdulai Abanga has undertaken the following interventions in the area of water and
sanitation in the Binduri Constituency
1) He has constructed over 144 hand-pump boreholes and 6 solar-powered-mechanized
boreholes in Atuba Mosque, Gumyoko, Kpalugu, Zuuri, Bansi and Wabzug-Kukparigu.

2) Concerning dams, Hon. Abanga and the government of Nana Addo/Bawumia have
constructed 5 dams which include Nayoko No.1, Atuba, Narango, Dulnatinga and
Asaanore and one other is under construction at Kpatarigu. He has also constructed 4 dams
rehabilitated at Gumyoko, Binduri Central, Bansi and Zawse.
3) Concerning toilet facilities, Hon. Abanga and the government constructed a 10-seater water
closet toilet facility each at the following places; Atuba market, Bazua market, Allelo
(Boko) market, 44 market, Binduri Health Centre and Binduri Community Day SHS. He
also renovated the 12-seater KVIP toilet facility at Atuba Market and a 12-seater KVIP
toilet facility at Bazua Market. He is currently constructing a 6-seater water closet facility
at the Bazua Chief Palace.
4) Four (4) electrically mechanized boreholes (small town water systems) in Kpalugu, Binduri
Central, Gumyoko and Aniisi.
E. YOUTH, SPORTS AND RECREATION
In the area of youth, sports and recreation, Hon. Abanga has undertaken the following:
1) He has constructed an Astro Turf pitch with floodlights to support sports development 24
hours
2) Hon. Abanga has provided thousands of scholarship and employment opportunities for the
teeming youth of Binduri and the Upper East Region in general
3) He consistently organizes Inter-Community Football Gala in the constituency
4) Hon. Abanga is one of the sponsors of the Maxx Empire Football Gala

F. RURAL ELECTRIFICATION
On rural electrification, Hon Abdulai Abanga and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia spearheaded the
following interventions:
1) He connected the following communities in the Binduri constituency to the national grid:
Nayoko No.1, Nayoko No.2, Ninsako, Tansia, Kaad-Kudug, Bansi, Gumyoko, Yarigungu,
Apurunzua, Azumsapeliga, Sarabogo, Kumpalgooga, Kukparigu and part of Bazua
Newtown.
2) Transformers have been mounted in the following communities waiting for
commissioning; Kulok-Natinga, Kulok-Tengri, Yalugu, Yapala, Bulugu, Widnaba,
Barabogo etc. Work is in progress in the following areas; Nafkoliga, Tambiigu, Tinorgo
etc. All these were spearheaded by Hon. Abanga.
G. SECURITY
In the area of security, Hon. Abdulai Abanga and the government of Nana Addo and Dr Bawumia
have undertaken the following projects
1) In February 2020, he constructed the Binduri District Police Station at Avondago.
2) He also constructed a Police Post at Atuba, a suburb of Binduri in May 2020
3) He presented 50 pieces of streetlights to the Army Barracks at Bazua in May 2021
4) He provided 2 Apsonic Motorbikes and a Television set to the District Police Command
of the Ghana Police Service in January 2024
5) In March 2024, Hon. Abanga presented 14 streetlights to the Army Barracks at Bazua to
support visibility within their vicinity.

H. AGRICULTURE
In the area of agriculture, Hon. Abdulai Abanga has successfully undertaken the following
interventions:
1) In November 2020, he presented 20 Gasoline water-pumping machines to farmers
2) In December 2021, he presented 7 water pumping machines and a colossal amount of cash
to the Binduri District Assembly ahead of the 37th Farmers’ Day celebration
3) He provided 2 changfan irrigation machines to farmers along the White Volta River at
Bansi and Atuba in January 2022
4) He provided 2 VST Shakti 135 Di-Ultra.S Power Tillers that come with Rotary Tillers,
Plough and Power weeder in January 2024
5) He provided a walking Tractor to support farm activities along the Volta basin.
6) He presented over 2,000 bags of Fertilizers to Farmers. – June 2023
7) Hon. Abanga presented 87 water pumping machines (1 for each polling station) to all
polling stations and 20 water pumping machines to individuals.
8) Last but not least, he presented a Canoe to farmers along the Volta basin at Yalugu in
August 2020
I. RELIGIOUS-SUPPORT SCHEMES
As a man of faith, Hon. Abdulai Abanga has supported religious activities in the constituency in
the following ways:
1) He presented a power generator to the Muslim community at Sakpare Mosque in April
2022
2) He constantly provides financial support to some churches in the constituency
3) He provided benches to the St. Joseph The Husband of Mary Catholic Church at Belimpiisi
in 2024
4) every year, Hon. Abanga provides hundreds of bags of sugar and other foodstuffs to the
Muslim community within the Constituency during Ramadan and Eid seasons.

CONCLUSION
To conclude ladies and gentlemen, it is very clear based on the above that, Hon. Abdulai Abanga
and Dr Mahumudu Bawumia, have proven to be a huge blessing to the people of the Upper East
Region and Binduri in particular and Ghana as a whole. He has delivered in every sector of our
national life, and that too, with distinction. It is based on this that the Regional Youth Wing of the
New Patriotic Party is strongly rallying support for the hardworking, tried and tested Hon. Abdulai
Abanga to be re-elected as Member of Parliament for the Binduri Constituency and Dr Mahamudu
Bawumia as President of Ghana in the 2024 general elections.
Politics is all about development and that is exactly what Hon Abanga and Dr. Mahamudu
Bawumia represent. He certainly deserves to be retained in Parliament to continue with his good
works. A vote for Abanga and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is a vote for development; it is a vote for
progress; it is a vote for the realization of the Binduri Must Develop dream.
