SHS Placement Delayed Again : Ghana Education Ministry Pushes 2026/2027 Results to September 4

By – Sadat Dabo

The Ministry of Education has officially postponed the release of the 2026/2027 Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) results from Monday, August 31, 2026, to Friday, September 4, 2026

In a statement issued on August 30, 2026, the Ministry explained that the decision follows appeals from parents, guardians, students, and heads of schools for additional time to complete the submission and uploading of students’ data onto the platforms of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the CSSPS

According to the Ministry, the extension will ensure that all qualified candidates complete the required processes and have their information properly captured for placement into Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions

The Ministry disclosed that approximately 20,000 qualified students are yet to have their school choices uploaded to the CSSPS platform by their schools, parents, or guardians. It stressed that the extension is intended to prevent these students from missing out on the placement process due to incomplete data submissions

Parents, guardians, students, and heads of schools have therefore been urged to take advantage of the extension period to submit all outstanding information before the new deadline

The statement reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring a transparent, fair, and efficient placement process that guarantees every qualified student an opportunity to secure admission into an SHS or TVET institution
