UE/R: SOCO PROJECT FACILITATORS URGED TO WORK HARD FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE PROJECT – DCE NABDAM
Madam Fawzia Yakubu Abagnamah, the Upper East Regional Women’s Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has launched her re-election campaign with a humanitarian gesture involving 200 widows in the Tempane Constituency

Madam Abagnamah, who is seeking another term in office in the November 14, 2026, regional elections, said the campaign launch reflected her commitment to women and communities across the Upper East Region

As part of the engagement, she presented each of the 200 widows with half a piece of cloth and financial support, describing the initiative as a continuation of the care and support she has sought to extend to women across all 15 constituencies in the region
In a statement announcing the launch, Madam Abagnamah said she deliberately chose to begin her campaign among women who, in her words, carry their communities
“My Campaign Launch! I launched my campaign where my work has always begun — with the women who carry our communities,” she stated
She explained that the engagement in Tempane was not organised for publicity but was part of her ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable women
“It was not a ceremony for cameras. It was a continuation of the care I have tried to show across all 15 constituencies of the Upper East Region,” she added
Seeks prayers as she begins second political journey
Madam Abagnamah said her main request to the widows was their prayers as she embarked on what she described as the second phase of her political journey
According to her, beginning the campaign with the blessings of women who understand hardship, resilience and strength was important to her
The gesture also places women’s welfare and community engagement at the centre of her campaign as she seeks to retain her position as the NDC’s Upper East Regional Women’s Organizer
“Proof, Not Promises”
Emphasising her campaign message, Madam Abagnamah declared that her approach would be anchored in practical action rather than promises
“The work continues. Proof, not promises,” she stated
Her campaign launch comes ahead of the November 14 regional elections, in which she will seek the support of party delegates to secure another term
Whether her message of practical support and grassroots engagement will strengthen her bid for re-election remains to be seen as the contest approaches
For now, Madam Abagnamah is presenting her record of engagement with women across the region as a central pillar of her campaign, while calling on the women of Tempane to support her with their prayers as she pursues another mandate
