The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has ushered in a new national executive leadership after a keenly contested election held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, 2026
The official results declared by the Electoral Commission saw John Boadu emerge as National Chairman, defeating former Minister of Energy Boakye Kyerematen Agyarko by 480 votes in a highly watched contest.
Mr. Boadu secured 2,888 votes, while Mr. Agyarko polled 2,408 votes. Former NPP National Chairman Paul Afoko obtained 790 votes, with Sammy Crabbe trailing with 41 votes
Mr. Boadu’s victory margin over Agyarko was 480 votes, giving him the mandate to lead the party at a critical point in its political journey
Kojo Fosu Boadu tops crowded Vice Chairman race
In the 13-member National Vice Chairman contest, Kojo Fosu Boadu emerged first with 3,116 votes.
Henry Nana Boakye followed with 3,061 votes, while Nana Akomea secured the third position with 2,987 votes
The three successful candidates will serve as the 1st, 2nd and 3rd National Vice Chairmen, respectively
The contest was particularly tight at the top, with only 55 votes separating Kojo Fosu Boadu and Henry Nana Boakye
Kodua returns with a landslide
Justin Kodua Frimpong recorded one of the biggest victories of the election, winning the General Secretary position with 4,486 votes
He was followed by Sylvester Tetteh with 1,340 votes, Eugene Boakye Antwi with 162 votes and Dr Charles Dwamena with 129 votes
Mr.Kodua’s 3,146-vote winning margin makes his victory one of the most decisive outcomes of the conference
Titus Glover takes National Organiser seat
Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover has been elected National Organiser after securing 2,964 votes
He defeated Ali Maiga Halidu, who polled 2,231 votes
Kwame Prempeh obtained 445 votes, while Daniel Agyenim Boateng secured 105 votes. The remaining candidates also recorded lower totals
Hawa Koomson wins Women’s Organiser race
Mavis Hawa Koomson defeated Safia Mohammed to become the NPP’s National Women’s Organiser
Hawa Koomson secured 783 votes, compared with Safia Mohammed’s 429 votes, winning by 354 votes
Abanga wins Youth Organiser contest
The National Youth Organiser race was won by Abanga Yakubu Fuseini, who obtained 1,550 votes
Clement Opoku Gyamfi placed second with 631 votes, while Michael Osei Boateng secured 78 votes
Alfred Kwadwo Thompson becomes Treasurer
Alfred Kwadwo Thompson emerged as National Treasurer with 2,243 votes
Tahiru Issahaku Moomin obtained 1,605 votes, Collins Nuntwiri Nuamah 1,582 votes, while Hajia Ahmed Ruka Saida polled 687 votes
Mohammed Ali Suraj wins Nasara Organiser
Mohammed Ali Suraj was elected National Nasara Organiser with 372 votes
He was followed by Salim Bamba with 311 votes and Awal Mohammed with 106 votes
Miracles Aboagye elected unopposed
Dennis Edward Miracles Aboagye was elected National Communications Director unopposed
