Residents of Walewale were left in shock on Tuesday afternoon after three armed robbers attacked a mobile money agent and a customer in a daylight robbery opposite the Total Fuel Station
The incident occurred at about 4:10 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, when the armed men reportedly targeted a mobile money vendor, popularly known as Sister Sakina, and a Fulani man who was conducting business with her
According to eyewitness accounts, the assailants made away with the Fulani man’s motorbike and GH₵5,050 in cash
Sister Sakina also disclosed that the robbers stole an unspecified amount of money from her mobile money float before fleeing the scene
Police have confirmed the incident and say investigations are underway to track down the suspects
The three robbers are reported to have escaped through Kperiga towards an unknown destination
The attack has heightened concerns over the growing spate of armed robberies targeting mobile money agents in the area, with residents calling for increased police patrols and enhanced security measures to protect businesses and the public.
