Friends of Prosper Supports Women in Broadcasting to Provide School Bags and Footwear to Vulnerable Children

Friends of Prosper, a youth group in the Bolgatanga Municipality, has supported Women in Broadcasting, Upper East Region, with school bags and footwear for donation to vulnerable children in eight schools across the municipality

The gesture forms part of efforts to support Women in Broadcasting’s Back to School Project, an initiative aimed at easing the educational challenges of underprivileged pupils and promoting inclusive access to learning

The donation was inspired by the difficult conditions faced by some children, including walking to school barefoot, carrying torn school bags, or attending classes without bags to keep their learning materials

These circumstances, which have raised concerns about the welfare and dignity of vulnerable pupils, underscore the importance of community support in education

The eight beneficiary schools are Anateem Primary, Azorebisi Primary, Sumbrungu Primary, Tindonsoligo, Yoriko Gaabisi Primary, Watania JHS, Zaire E/A Primary, and Kalbeo primary

The support from Friends of Prosper highlights the impact of youth led initiatives and community partnerships in addressing the educational needs of children. By providing essential school items, the group has contributed to creating a more supportive learning environment for pupils who might otherwise struggle to obtain these basic necessities

 

Speaking on the occasion, the President of Women in Broadcasting, Upper East Region, Humul Khrusum Tahiru, appealed to organisations, benevolent individuals, and the general public to support the Back to School Project

She said additional support would enable the organisation to reach more schools and assist a greater number of needy pupils across the region, ensuring that more children have the essential materials needed to pursue their education with confidence and dignity
