Remain in the Love of God

Rev. Fr. Samuel Atinga, the Cathedral Administrator, delivering a sermon on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral Parish in Bolgatanga, stirred the souls of congregants with a profound message echoing the teachings of John 15:1-8. With a commanding presence, he urged Christians to embody the essence of remaining in Christ, drawing from the timeless wisdom found in the scriptures.

Rev. Fr. Atinga explained that when we’re connected to Jesus, it’s like being part of a strong, healthy vine. But if we disconnect from Him, it’s like a branch getting cut off and withering away. He used this to illustrate how vital it is to stay close to God.

Even when we face tough times or battling with sin(s), Rev. Atinga said that God’s love is always there for us, ready to forgive and help us through. He warned that if we drift away from God, we might face more challenges, but encouraged everyone to come back to Jesus because He’s always waiting for us with open arms.

The sermon’s main message was about remaining in the love of Jesus, just as Jesus remains in us. Reverend Atinga urged everyone to keep this connection strong and not to let go, no matter what happens.

As congregants departed from the Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral Parish, they carried with them not only the words of Rev. Fr. Atinga but also a renewed commitment to abide in the boundless love of Christ. In a world fraught with uncertainty, the message of remaining in Christ serves as a beacon of hope, guiding believers on their journey of faith and reaffirming the enduring presence of God’s love in their lives.
