UE/R: SOCO PROJECT FACILITATORS URGED TO WORK HARD FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE PROJECT – DCE NABDAM

The 5th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards in the Upper East Region has secured significant corporate backing ahead of the much anticipated ceremony scheduled for October 2026, with MyTurn Limited and Lesken Enterprise leading the sponsorship drive as headline and main sponsors respectively
The development is expected to give further impetus to preparations for the annual awards, which seek to recognise and celebrate journalists whose exceptional work has contributed to public education, accountability, development and the advancement of society
Kacstone Records and Paga Youth Movement have also joined the initiative under the main sponsorship package, adding their support to efforts to make the 5th edition a successful and memorable celebration of journalistic excellence in the region
A key partner of the Upper East Regional GJA Awards over the years, WaterAid Ghana is once again supporting the initiative
The organisation’s sustained partnership reflects its commitment to working with the media to promote development issues, particularly in the areas of water, sanitation and hygiene, while encouraging impactful journalism.
Other organisations supporting the awards include Afrikids Foundation and Youth Harvest, whose contributions, together with those of the lead sponsors and partners, are expected to play an important role in the successful organisation of the ceremony
The 5th GJA Awards is expected to bring together media practitioners, government officials, traditional authorities, development partners, corporate institutions and other stakeholders to celebrate journalists who have demonstrated professionalism, creativity, courage and commitment in the discharge of their duties
The Upper East Regional GJA has expressed appreciation to all sponsors and partners for their confidence in the awards and their continued support for journalism. The Association has, however, called for additional support and sponsorship from corporate organisations, institutions, development partners and individuals to help make this year’s event even more memorable and impactful
The GJA said increased support would not only contribute to the successful organisation of the ceremony but would also strengthen efforts to motivate journalists to uphold professional standards and continue producing quality, impactful stories that contribute to the development of the Upper East Region and Ghana as a whole
