The construction of the water-proofing sub-project of the Upper East Regional Mosque popularly known as the Bolgatanga Central Mosque located near the Bolgatanga Main Taxi Rank has been 60 percent complete.

Interacting with URA News team who visited the site to ascertain progress of the project which is so dear to the entire muslim community of the region, the water-proofing sub-project engineer, Eng. Emmanuel Nii Tagoe said his team was committed to ensure the project under his watch was completed and delivered as scheduled adding that the timely delivery of the sub-project could speed up the remaining tasks of the project contractor.

The purpose of the water-proofing activity according to Eng. Nii Tagoe was to absorb the surface water so as to prevent it from being absorbed into the concrete deckings of the project by making it firm.

It will interest our readers to know that the project whose construction dates back to decades had experienced intermittent breaks in times past due to funding challenges.

Our team took special interest in the project because it had observed that the execution of this project has been ongoing unabated since the beginning of the year 2023 till date.

When our team got to the site it saw three young energetic men anxiously working on the carpet and other materials used for the waterproofing project.

Roughly three months ago, our team interacted with Engineer George, one of the construction engineers of the project who disclosed that the entire project was over 80 percent completed saying they wished to have completed the project within the given timeline so it could be handed over for maximum use.
