UE/R: SOCO PROJECT FACILITATORS URGED TO WORK HARD FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE PROJECT – DCE NABDAM

The Member of Parliament for the Bolgatanga Central Constituency, Hon. Isaac Adongo had donated a number of assorted food items to the Upper East Regional Chief Imam, Sheikh Alhaji Yussuf Umar through the office of the Bolgatanga Zongo Caucus. The items which included ten 50kg bags of sugar, ten cartons of milk as well as ten cartons of lipton worth thousands of Ghana cedis.
Presenting the items on behalf of the parliamentary candidate, the Bolgatanga Central Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, NDC Mr. Ayamga Mathew said the move was meant to support the Ramadhan Iftaar Initiative for the Ghana Muslims Students Association across the region by the Regional Chief Imam.
The donation which was made on the climax of this year’s Imam’s Tafseer(Holy Quran Interpretation) at his residence in Bolgatanga was witnessed by a cross-section of the muslim Ummah some of whom were representatives from various municipalities and districts of the region and beyond.
Receiving the items on behalf of the beneficiaries, Sheikh Imam Yussuf thanked the MP’s representatives describing the donation as timely adding it will serve the purpose for which it was donated. He used the platform to appeal for more support from other well-to-do individuals and benevolent organisations to enable the project team reach out to many more schools as they prepare for Eid’ul Fitr celebration at the end of Ramadhan and six days optional fast after the Eid celebrations.
The Special Guest of Honour, Sheikh Yakub, the maternal uncle of the Regional Chief Imam used the occasion to pray for the peace of Bawku, Bolgatanga, Doba, Kandiga, the entire region and Ghana as a whole saying that 2024 was an election year and urged politicians to be decorus in their day-to-day interaction with the masses as they seek for their mandate to lead the country.
In his closing remarks after the final Tafseer for the year, the regional Imam called on the youth of the various Zongo Communities in the region not to allow themselves to be used by politicians to score personal goals. He stated that the Holy Quran teaches truthfulness, peace, justice, love and compassion to all matter of persons and above all be a bridge to link individuals and communities. He warned that anything contrary to these attracts the punishment of Allah in this world and on the day of judgement.
