In a heartfelt celebration of the birthday of Dr. Emmanuel Bortey Borketey, Founder and CEO of Charger Group of Companies  producers of Happy Man Bitters and other popular beverages. A group of his close friends made a surprise donation to the maternity ward of the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital. Led by Mr. Albert Azongo, the team presented essential baby items to mothers of newborns delivered on June 23rd, the same date as Dr. Borketey’s birthday. The donation included diapers, baby wipes, towels, soaps, bottled water, and other hygiene products.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Mr. Azongo described the gesture as a special way of honoring Dr. Borketey, whom he referred to as “a boss, friend, and brother with a heart for people.” He added that the surprise donation was not only to mark the CEO’s birthday but also to recognize his exceptional impact on the lives of many.

“We love him so much and felt the need to do something meaningful that reflects the values he lives by kindness, generosity, and compassion,” Mr. Azongo said. This marks the third  year the team has carried out such charitable gestures in honor of Dr. Borketey. In 2024, a donation was made to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of the same hospital. In 2022, the CEO, together with his team, undertook their largest outreach covering almost all orphanages in the Bolgatanga Municipality.

Madam Regina, the nurse in charge at the maternity ward, received the items on behalf of the hospital. She expressed profound gratitude to Dr. Borketey and his friends for their thoughtful support.

“We are deeply touched by this act of kindness. These items will go a long way to support new mothers who need them the most,” she said. “We pray for God’s continuous blessings upon Dr. Emmanuel Bortey Borketey, and thank the entire team for their generous donation.”

The thoughtful celebration added joy to an already special day for the mothers and families at the maternity ward, further cementing Dr. Borketey’s legacy is a man who inspires kindness and service to humanity.
