UE/R: EPSCOA HONORS RETIRED, TRANSFERRED AND STAFF WITH APPOINTMENT

The Educational Procurement and Supply Chain Officers Association (EPSCOA) in the Upper East Region hosted a colorful retirement and sendoff party to honor distinguished officers who have completed their dedicated service, officers on transfer and officers that  have received Government appointment.

The ceremony, held in Bolgatanga Girls SHS, brought together stakeholders from the education sector, union representatives, and family members to celebrate the contributions of the retirees. The event was graced by Deputy y Regional Director of Education, procurement and supply chain professionals, and representatives from sister associations. Colleagues, friends, and family joined in an atmosphere of joy, nostalgia, and gratitude.

The Chairman of the Association, Mr. Thomas Ayipala   praised the retirees for their integrity, professionalism, and commitment to ensuring transparency and efficiency in educational procurement and supply chain management.  with immense pride and gratitude he acknowledged esteemed members who have recently been entrusted with government appointments. Your elevation is not only a personal achievement but also a collective honor for our fraternity, He added”.   He further  recognized that such appointments are a testament to  integrity, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to service.

He expresses the Association’s sincere gratitude to employees who have been transferred to new stations.You have demonstrated diligence, professionalism, and loyalty throughout your time here. You have made a significant contribution to the institution’s expansion, and your influence will live on in the long run. He continued, “We are reassured by the knowledge that your skills and commitment will now enrich the Association and offices, even though your departure leaves a gap.”

He finally admonish all members to take advantage of every opportunity to develop themselves and to further their studies because the  profession and the expectations of society requires continues upgrade of skills.

Mr. John Ankum, Deputy Director of Education in the Upper East Region was the Chairman of the event. In his Remark, he said work is seen only as a means to earn money. But in a reminder he said true work is more than a paycheck—it is a purpose, a legacy, and a contribution to life itself. He added that Education is not a business transaction; it is a sacred duty. When we teach, when we manage resources, when we serve our communities, we are shaping lives, building futures, and strengthening our nation., he added’.  The value of our work cannot be measured only in salaries or allowances—it must be measured in the impact we leave behind.

Hon. Joseph Akaseke, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bongo District, a member of the association  and one of the staff who have received appointment to be honoured in his solidarity message stated that as both a proud member of the Association and as one of the staff who has been blessed with a government appointment, this honor is not his alone—it is a reflection of the collective strength, dedication, and integrity of the Association. The values we uphold—transparency, accountability, and service—have shaped him and he carrys them with him into his new responsibility as District Chief Executive for Bongo.

He again  expressed mhis heartfelt appreciation to the leadership and membership of the Association for the solidarity shown to him and to all colleagues who have received appointments. Your support reminds us that we are never alone in our journey; we are part of a family that believes in service beyond self, he added”.

Alhaji Issah Bukari, on behalf of the Retirees shared heartfelt reflections on their years of service, encouraging younger officers to uphold the values of accountability and dedication.

There were Solidarity messages from sister associate members and the Regional Industrial relation Officer.

Gifts were presented to the retirees  and  citations were presented to staff on transfer and those with appoint as symbols of honor and recognition. Those with appointments are Mad. Fawuziah Yakubu (Regional School feeding Coordinator) and Hon. Joseph Akaseke, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bongo District.

This sendoff party was not only a celebration of individual achievements but also a reaffirmation of the Association’s commitment to: Recognizing service and sacrifice, Strengthening solidarity among officers, and  Inspiring the next generation of procurement and supply chain professionals in education.

   

The event ended with group photographs, a communal meal, and renewed pledges to continue building a transparent and efficient procurement system that supports quality education delivery in Ghana.
