UE/R: SOCO PROJECT FACILITATORS URGED TO WORK HARD FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE PROJECT – DCE NABDAM
Contrary to reports that relief items to the spillage affected victims are being diverted, the National Disaster Management Organisation, NADMO says they are doing targeted distributions.
It said priority is being given to vulnerable people including the aged and children.
Speaking to GBC News, Deputy Director-General of NADMO, in charge of Technical, Seji Saji Amedonu, said the distribution of relief items is being done using the data it has gathered.
Mr. Amedonu denied that the military assisting with the rescue and distribution of relief items has been withdrawn.
He said a batch of the military had to be redeployed to another affected area to assist the people, which was misconstrued to mean that the military had been withdrawn.
