UE/R: SOCO PROJECT FACILITATORS URGED TO WORK HARD FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE PROJECT – DCE NABDAM

The NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Pusiga in the Upper East Region, Alhaji Abdul-Wahab Hanan Aludiba, has commissioned one of the best FIFA standard Astro Turfs in his constituency, Pusiga.
The astro turf is an ultra modern facilities equipped with floor lights, coaches and reserve players benches, fence and inner perimeter covered with artificial surface among others.The aim of putting this modern gargantuan facility is to promote sporting and recreational activities in the entire Pusiga District and beyond. It will also serve as a venue for social gatherings including weddings, fan fairs, passing-out ceremonies etc.
The ceremony was attended by chiefs, queen mothers, the imams and pastors, youth groups, women groups, NPP constituency executives, the good people of Pusiga and several others from various walks of life.
The DCE for Pusiga, Hon. Zubeiru Abdulai welcome the attendees and called for unity among the people of Pusiga.
In a solem address by Alhaji Abdul-Wahab Hanan, he emphasized the importance of the facility in promoting sporting activities and other social events within the district. He emphasized the importance of the provision of the facility and promised the Ghana Gas Company that it will be collectively taken care of to sustain it.
Alhaji Abdul-Wahab Hanan Alubiba recalled when he came to cut sod for the construction of the project, many people, especially his political opponents, called it a scam and laughed off its possibility but today, the Pusiga Ultra Modern Astro Turf is a reality to the glory of Allah and the shame of the naysayers.
Hanan therefore appealed to the people of Pusiga to give him the mandate in December 7th and when he emerges as the MP, he will do even more.
Alhaji Hanan is also the CEO for the National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO).The astro turf project was lobbied by Alhaji Hanan through the Ghana National Gas Company Limited and as part of their corporate social responsibility to improve sporting activities in the country, they came and constructed the project.
The special guest of honour, the minister for Youth and Sports – Alhaji Mustapha Yussif, said the construction of astro turfs across the country is a fulfillment of H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, the president of Ghana’s vision to improve sporting activities in the entire country. He said before the president came into office in January 2017, there were only three (3) Astro turfs in Ghana. He said, with the Pusiga one been commissioned, it takes the number of Astro Turfs automatically to One Hundred and Fifty Six (156) in the entire country as at now. In addition, the sports minister said the president has also constructed 10 youth resource centers with 5000 seating capacity and that six (6) out of them have been completed.
Also present at the occasion was the deputy minister for transport and MP for Gushiegu – Hon. Hassan Tampuli, the National Organizer for the NPP – Mr. Henry Nana Boakye alias Nana B, the Upper East Regional Chairman for the NPP – Lawyer Tony Namoo and other regional executive of the NPP.
A representative from the Ghana Gas Company – Mr. Benz, was also present and expressed contentment for the show of appreciation from the people in their numbers. He pledged that Ghana Gas Company is always ready to support initiatives of this sought that seek to benefit the people.
Former Ghana Black Star players graced the occasion to take part in a demonstration match on the Astro Turf. The players include Stephen Appiah (former captain), Emmanuel Agyeman Badu, Laryea Kingston and John Paintsil. Their presence and touches on the field raised applauses and made the program an ecstatic one of it’s kind.
