UE/R: SOCO PROJECT FACILITATORS URGED TO WORK HARD FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE PROJECT – DCE NABDAM

The North East Regional Elections Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has completed the vetting of candidates ahead of the party’s 2026 Constituency Executive Elections across the six constituencies in the region
The vetting exercise, held from September 26 to 27, 2026, has cleared a total of 376 candidates to contest various constituency executive positions
The six constituencies involved are Walewale, Yagaba-Kubori, Nalerigu-Gambaga, Yunyoo-Nasuan, Bunkpurugu-Nakpanduri and Chereponi
Breakdown by Constituency
Walewale Constituency recorded the highest number of qualified candidates, with 73 candidates cleared to contest the various positions
Bunkpurugu-Nakpanduri followed with 71 candidates, while Chereponi recorded 68
In Nalerigu-Gambaga, a total of 60 candidates were cleared, followed by Yunyoo-Nasuan with 57 candidates
Yagaba-Kubori recorded the lowest number, with 47 candidates successfully completing the vetting process
The positions being contested include Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Organizer, Deputy Organizer, Treasurer, Deputy Treasurer, Communications Officer, Deputy Communications Officer, Women’s Organizer, Deputy Women’s Organizer, Youth Organizer, Deputy Youth Organizer, other Youth Representatives, Zongo Caucus and Eight Other positions
The figures show significant interest among party members seeking various leadership positions as the NDC prepares for its constituency-level executive elections in the North East Region
With the vetting process now completed, attention is expected to shift toward the next stages of the electoral process, including campaigning and the eventual constituency elections
