UE/R: SOCO PROJECT FACILITATORS URGED TO WORK HARD FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE PROJECT – DCE NABDAM

The Upper East Regional Rural Fire Department is urging the public to involve the Ghana National Fire Service in road accident rescue operations, particularly when victims are trapped inside damaged vehicles
The Officer in Charge of the Department, D.O. 2 Mohammed Musah, said the Fire Service has specialised equipment and trained personnel capable of cutting through vehicle wreckage and safely rescuing trapped accident victims
Speaking on Ripples on GBC URA Radio in Bolgatanga, he cautioned the public against attempting to forcibly remove victims from damaged vehicles, saying such actions could cause further injuries
According to him, firefighters can use the appropriate rescue equipment to safely free victims before they are handed over to medical teams for treatment and transportation to health facilities
D.O. 2 Musah also called for greater public education on the role of the Fire Service, stressing that fire safety should not be limited to commercial drivers but should also cover households and communities
He encouraged residents to keep direct contact numbers of emergency responders within their communities to facilitate quicker responses to emergencies
He gave the Upper East Regional Rural Fire Department contact number as 050 592 9998, urging the public to use the number when immediate assistance is required
D.O. 2 Musah said early contact with emergency responders can help reduce delays and potentially save lives during road crashes and other emergencies
