UE/R: SOCO PROJECT FACILITATORS URGED TO WORK HARD FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE PROJECT – DCE NABDAM

Terabuuriyele International – Diaspora Branch, representing natives of Bolgatanga and its surrounding areas living abroad, has made a significant donation of essential medical equipment to the Upper East Regional Hospital in Bolgatanga. The items, including 22 blood pressure monitoring apparatus, and 22 infrared thermometer guns, were presented today with the aim of improving healthcare delivery for the local community.
Terabuuriyele International operates as the diaspora arm of the main Terabuuriyele organization headquartered in Bolgatanga. This ethnic group-based organization is dedicated to preserving, maintaining, promoting, and celebrating the Frafra culture.
Nurse Justina Ayoribila, the Deputy Director of Nursing Services at the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital, expressed profound gratitude for the timely donation. She acknowledged the importance of the equipment in bolstering the hospital’s capacity to provide quality care.
This contribution underscores Terabuuriyele’s ongoing commitment to the well-being of their kinsmen and the development of their home region. Simon Apenuure, the National Chairman of Terabuuriyele, whose leadership extends to the main headquarters in Bolgatanga, highlighted the organization’s dedication to humanitarian support and addressing critical needs within the nation.
The donation to the Upper East Regional Hospital is not the first instance of Terabuuriyele’s impactful contributions. Notably, the group played a crucial role in providing veronica buckets and other essential items to various districts during the COVID-19 pandemic, actively contributing to curbing the spread of the virus.
Beyond immediate relief, Terabuuriyele has been a strong advocate for cultural inclusivity. The organization spearheaded the successful inclusion of the Gurune language as an examinable subject in the national education curriculum. This landmark achievement is vital for the preservation, documentation, and transmission of the rich cultural heritage and practices of the Frafra people to future generations.
Looking ahead, Terabuuriyele is actively developing the “Terabuuriyele Cultural Village (TCV).” This ambitious project will encompass a museum dedicated to safeguarding indigenous cultural artifacts, a radio station for education, entertainment, and disseminating information in local languages, a conference hall, a restaurant serving traditional Frafra cuisine, and a guest house. The radio station, in particular, aims to be a voice for the community, bridging cultural gaps and promoting positive cultural values through locally relevant content.
This latest donation to the Upper East Regional Hospital reaffirms Terabuuriyele International’s dedication to supporting their community and signifies their continued commitment to the progress and well-being of the people of the Upper East Region.
