Just as Unit committee elections are held every four years to choose members to units, District Assembly Elections are also held every four years to choose representation from Electoral areas to the District Assemblies.
The District Director of the Bolga East Electoral Commission (EC) Mr. Mark Kudumor has stated that all is set for the district-level Elections in the District. Over 24,355 registered voters are expected to move to their various polling stations for the District Level Election he added. The Electoral Commission’s statistics in the Bolga East District indicate that 44 individuals are competing for assembly and 86 are competing for unit committee positions in the local polls he added.
Mr. George Konlan, the Returning Officer, speaking to URA Radio also stated that everything is prepared, logistics are in place, officials are well-versed in the procedure, and that they would be able to deliver. He continued by saying that all polling places will have security to guarantee a smooth and incident-free election process.He gave his words that all necessary arrangements had been taken to guarantee that there would be an adequate supply of voting materials at every polling place in the District.
The Electoral battleground spans 15 out of 16 Electoral areas for District Assembly Elections whiles 7 out of 16 for Unit Electon.
