UE/R: SOCO PROJECT FACILITATORS URGED TO WORK HARD FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE PROJECT – DCE NABDAM

The 1983 year’s group of the Navrongo Senior High School also knows as NAVASCO, has renovated and furnished the School ‘s Masters Mess and supported them during their anniversary with buffet, prizes and a laptop at the cost of GHC 150,000 including seedlings for planting, to enable the Masters have a decent place to sit and have their meals and to improve teaching and learning. This was made known by Mr Charles Wompia, the general secretary of the year group. According to Dr. Rudolph Kantum, who is the year’s group National President who was also their Senior Perfect, said they realized that, 1982 year’s group has furnished the School Dinning Hall and the Canteen, leaving the teachers’ eating place, because that was not part of their project , therefore they discussed it with the Headmistress and finally settled on the Masters Mess and “today they are very happy with the works, which includes renovation of the entire building, furnished with tables and chairs and air conditioner and fridge will be delivered soon”. Dr Rudolph Kantum a native, who is also the owner of RUMA Fertility and Special Hospital in Kumasi, President of Fertility Society of Ghana, health consultant and member of Rotary Club, commended the Headmistress and the staff, for being supportive especially during the monitoring, and hope that, another year group will continue.
Mr. Mahama B. Mumuni, who is the local Chairman of the organizing committee, dcried the dwindling numbers of the year groups of the Navrongo Senior High School called “NABIA”, and many of them too, are on retirement, and suggested that if some of the year groups can be merged , that would always enable them to do a very meaningful project for the school as NABIA.

The Headmistress of the Navrongo Senior High School, Mrs Babachuweh Mercy, receiving the renovated project on behalf of the School management and staff, thanked the 1983 year’s group ,for their wonderful gesture, because they are few and some are on retirement but still contributed, adding that, NABIA in general has been trying to make life comfortable on campus for both students and staff, but many of the attention is always on the students and she is very grateful for this group, that has thought about the teachers, because when teachers are comfortable, the delivered the needed results. According to her, teachers are no more carrying food to the the common room, but sits very comfortable in the Masters Mess and enjoy their food . The 1983 year group members who were also present during the short handing over ceremony were Mr Arimeyaw Braimah Adivila and Mr Albert A. Adoba and some of the teaching staff.
