An atmosphere of compassion and remembrance filled the Bolgatanga and Navrongo Municipalities on Wednesday as the Dr. Kenneth Elvis Anewenah Foundation carried out its annual “Meals on Wheels” program. The initiative, held in commemoration of the late Dr. Kenneth Elvis Anewenah’s birthday brought nourishment and hope to over 1,500 people across the Upper East Region.
Leaders, family, and friends of the late Dr. Anewenah visited orphanages including God Love Children’s Home, Mama Lardi Children’s Home, the Center for Child Development, and Hope Children’s Place in Bongo, as well as the Bolgatanga and Navrongo Hospitals and the Navrongo Prisons. Beneficiaries were treated to assorted takeaway packs of Jollof rice, chicken, and refreshing drinks, a gesture that reflected the enduring spirit of generosity of the man they gathered to honor.

Dr. Kenneth Elvis Anewenah, beneficiaries were excited and expressed appreciation for choosing to celebrate with them. Dr. Kenneth is remembered as both a successful entrepreneur and a humanitarian, was the CEO of Myturn Ltd. and Lesken Enterprise. Beyond his business achievements, he was renowned for his deep faith, philanthropy, and commitment to uplifting the underprivileged.

Speaking during the outreach, Danka John Paul, a close friend of the foundation and a protégé of the late Dr. Ken paid a moving tribute.
“Today would have marked Dr. Ken’s 53rd birthday. He was not only a business mogul but a humanitarian par excellence. His passion for bridging social gaps and inequalities was remarkable, and his generosity touched nearly every sector of society,” Danka said. “He was also one of the biggest private employers in northern Ghana, giving opportunities without discrimination and supporting countless orphanages and brilliant students who couldn’t afford education. As a family and foundation, we find it only right to continue his noble vision.”

Mr. Bimidele Amao, Secretary to the Foundation, also shared the organization’s vision moving forward. He revealed plans to support the War Memorial Hospital in Navrongo, orphanages across the region, girls’ schools, and the Navrongo Prisons. He further appealed to organizations, institutions, and benevolent individuals to partner with the foundation in sustaining its philanthropic activities.

The foundation has outlined ambitious objectives to honor Dr. Anewenah’s legacy includes establishing need-based tuition grants, creating academic scholarships, and supporting grassroots development projects. These initiatives, leaders say, will ensure that his commitment to empowering underprivileged communities lives on.
