MTN Ghana has announced plans to significantly expand its network coverage and enhance customer service infrastructure across the country. This according to the company’s CEO, Mr. Stephen Blewett made this declaration during the MTN Media and Shareholders Forum held in Tamale on May 16, 2025.

Mr. Blewett said, the telecommunications giant, will roll out initiatives to extend its network reach to underserved areas in a bid to serve its growing customer base more efficiently. “Our goal is to ensure every MTN customer, no matter where they are, enjoys strong and reliable connectivity,” he stated.

In addition to the network expansion, Mr. Blewett revealed that MTN Ghana will construct 300 new retail stores nationwide before the end of 2025. This move aims to reduce congestion at existing MTN service centers and bring services closer to customers.

Our offices in many parts of the country are overwhelmed due to increasing demand. These new stores will ease overcrowding and enhance customer experience, he explained.

The CEO also took the opportunity to address the growing concern of mobile money (MoMo) fraud.

He advised MoMo users to remain vigilant and avoid sharing their PINs or personal information with others.

Fraudsters are becoming more sophisticated. We urge all users to protect their MoMo accounts by keeping their PINs confidential and reporting any suspicious activity immediately, Mr. Blewett cautioned.

The MTN Media and Shareholders Forum brought together key stakeholders, including media representatives, shareholders, and industry experts, to discuss the company’s performance and future plans.
